Our service offers help in growing D/deaf and hard-of-hearing people’s readiness to do themselves justice in:

Channelling personal efforts towards addressing barriers to work: low confidence and self-esteem, anxiety, depression, OCD, low aspiration, skills and qualification deficit

Preparation for interviews and assessment centres

Transition to hearing workplaces in which culture and expectation are likely to be very different to those in the Deaf community

Market research, business planning and pursuit of enterprise start-up funds

Sustainable business development

In addition, they advise and assist employers in growing their own Deaf awareness and understanding; making reasonable adjustment to recruitment, selection, induction, support/supervision, appraisal and on-going career progression arrangements; also around securing Access to Work funding to enable investment in interpreters and communication support professionals, facilities’ adaptation and assistive technologies’ provision.
